Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT) – Elementary School
Location: Algonquin Lakes Elementary School
Contract Duration: August 7, 2025 – May 19, 2026
Orientation Date: August 4, 2025
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Contract Length: 42 Weeks

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our educational team for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time role will serve students in both early childhood blended classrooms and self-contained elementary classrooms at Algonquin Lakes Elementary School. The OT will support students with a wide range of physical, sensory, and developmental needs, helping them access and succeed in the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students per IEP requirements.

  • Evaluate students' fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and functional skills.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals aligned with educational objectives.

  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to implement classroom strategies and accommodations.

  • Document services, maintain case records, and contribute to IEP meetings.

  • Support inclusive practices in early childhood blended classrooms and adapt strategies for self-contained settings.

  • Participate in school-based problem-solving teams and provide staff training as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Current Illinois Occupational Therapy license.

  • NBCOT certification.

  • Prior experience working in school-based settings preferred, especially with early childhood and special education populations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Working Conditions:

  • On-site position at Algonquin Lakes Elementary School.

  • Includes both general education and special education classroom environments.

  • Early start time (6:45 AM) to support student needs across multiple programs.

Compensation:

  • $58 per hour

  • 42-week contract, including orientation and school breaks.
