Clinical Nurse Educator (Must be an RN to qualify for this position)

We are currently seeking an RN Clinical Nurse Educator to oversee all hospital clinical education, including RN skills fairs, orientation, and training. This position will report to the Professional Development department.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hospital Nursing Clinical Educator to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in enhancing clinical skills, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and fostering continuous professional development among nursing staff. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing experience across various settings, including critical care, hospital, nursing home, and home care environments. A strong background in adult education, patient care, and medical documentation is essential to effectively train and mentor nursing professionals. The Nursing Clinical Educator will play a key role in promoting best practices, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations, and supporting the ongoing training needs of our healthcare team.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to different nursing specialties such as ICU, pediatrics, adult care, and acute care.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions and classroom instruction to enhance clinical competencies in areas like physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care procedures.
  • Evaluate clinical staff performance through observations and assessments; provide constructive feedback to foster professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and proper medical documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify training needs and develop targeted educational materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, certifications, and competency assessments within medical records systems.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and integrate new evidence-based approaches into training curricula.
  • Support new employee onboarding by providing orientation on policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning through workshops, seminars, and development programs.

Requirements

  • Valid nursing license with active registration; experience in critical care (ICU), hospital settings, nursing homes, or home care preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in patient care across diverse populations including pediatrics and adult patients.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices.
  • Prior experience in teaching or training roles within healthcare environments; experience in adult education is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical records.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct effectively at various levels of clinical staff development.
  • Ability to develop engaging educational content tailored to different learning styles.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while promoting a positive learning environment.
