Maternity Nurse Educator – 13-Week Contract
Pay: $70 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Maternity Nurse Educator with strong NICU / Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) experience for a 13-week contract. This role is ideal for a nurse leader who enjoys education, mentorship, and advancing evidence-based nursing practice.

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Alternating schedule:

    • One week: 5 eight-hour days

    • Next week: 4 eight-hour days

Position Overview:
The qualified candidate will function in intertwined roles including change agent, mentor, facilitator of learning, leader, advocate for the clinical nurse educator specialty, champion of scientific inquiry, and partner for role transitions. This role draws upon adult learning theory, clinical experience, evidence-based practice, and professional development standards to transform nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess educational needs and analyze trends impacting clinical practice

  • Develop measurable learning outcomes that reflect competence and practice change

  • Plan and prepare educational content aligned with evidence-based practice and accrediting requirements

  • Facilitate a positive learning environment bridging academia and clinical practice

  • Evaluate learning activities using reliable tools and revise programming as needed

  • Champion scientific inquiry and integrate evidence into clinical nursing practice

  • Act as a change agent by developing and implementing educational programs

  • Provide leadership in nursing competency development and academic partnerships

  • Mentor staff and advance the nursing profession through professional development and committee involvement

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • Current Massachusetts RN License

  • MSN required

  • Certified ANCC in Nursing Professional Development strongly preferred

  • Current AHA BLS certification

  • NRP and ACLS required

  • NRP Fetal Monitoring Instructor preferred

  • Demonstrated experience meeting ANPD core competency standards

  • Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) nursing experience required

Clinical Expertise Required:

  • Advanced maternal-child nursing practice

  • Fetal monitoring

  • Cardiac arrhythmia identification

  • IV medication titration

  • Pain management modalities, including epidurals

  • Management of high-acuity labor patients

  • Operating room experience as circulator and scrub nurse
