Job Title: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse – Night Shift (13-Week Contract)

Shift: Full-time, Night Shift (Typically 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a 13-week contract position, working the night shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency care, critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage high-stress situations. As part of the ER team, the nurse will play a vital role in providing immediate and lifesaving care to patients in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, triage, and prioritize emergency patients based on their medical conditions and severity.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.

  • Monitor and document patient conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and overall health.

  • Provide emergency care, including advanced life support, trauma management, and wound care.

  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, specialists, technicians) to ensure coordinated care.

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care plans.

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist with codes as needed.

  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and privacy of patients during their stay in the ER.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to hospital protocols and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN License in the state of Illinois.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications required (PALS preferred).

  • At least 1-2 years of ER nursing experience in a hospital setting (preferred).

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

  • Ability to commit to the 13-week contract duration.

Working Conditions:

  • Night shift schedule (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as necessary.

  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and physical strain.

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
