Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and culturally competent Bilingual Social Worker to support individuals and families facing social, emotional, and economic challenges. The ideal candidate will be fluent in [insert second language, e.g., Spanish and English] and skilled in delivering culturally responsive services in a variety of settings. The social worker will provide case management, crisis intervention, counseling, and resource coordination to promote well-being and equitable access to services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intakes, assessments, and home visits with clients in both English and [insert second language].

  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention to students, individuals, or families.

  • Assist clients in accessing community resources (e.g., housing, food, mental health, healthcare, legal support).

  • Serve as a liaison between families and schools, healthcare providers, or public agencies.

  • Advocate for clients' rights and help reduce barriers to services related to language or cultural differences.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation, including case notes, reports, and progress summaries.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to service plans or educational plans (e.g., IEPs, 504 Plans).

  • Provide family education and support related to parenting, communication, or mental health.

  • Support outreach efforts and facilitate bilingual workshops or support groups.

  • Collaborate with interpreters and translation services when needed.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) from an accredited institution.

  • Current state licensure or certification (e.g., LSW, LMSW, LCSW).

  • Fluency in English and [insert second language], with the ability to conduct assessments and write documentation in English.

  • Strong knowledge of cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and social determinants of health.

  • Experience working with diverse, multilingual, and immigrant/refugee populations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in case management and referral coordination.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in school-based, healthcare, or community agency settings.

  • Knowledge of educational law (IDEA, Section 504) or public assistance systems.

  • Training in trauma-informed practices, restorative justice, or mental health support.

  • Familiarity with electronic case management systems or documentation tools.
