Bi-Lingual Speech Language Pathologist (PEL Required) – Elgin, IL
Pay: $72 per hour
Assignment: Remainder of the 2025–26 school year
Location: Elgin, IL – Area School District
Position Overview
We are seeking a Bi-Lingual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to work in an educational setting for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year. The ideal candidate will have a PEL certification and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families to support speech and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
Prevention: Consultation, in-service training, parent and parent group education.
Identification: Pre-referral support, screenings, referrals for evaluation processes.
Assessment: Data collection using standardized or non-standardized measures, interpretation, report writing, sharing results with parents and staff, determining eligibility, and developing IEPs.
Intervention:
Caseload management and scheduling
Direct remediation in educational settings and pull-out services
Consulting on academic and social issues
Developing goals, documenting progress, and holding annual review meetings
Maintaining student IEPs and evaluations in a web-based system
Completing caseload records for special education funding
Collaborating with classroom teachers and working effectively as part of a team
Performing duties in noisy and busy school environments, indoors and outdoors
Qualifications:
PEL certification required
Bi-lingual skills (specific language proficiency required)
Experience in school-based speech and language assessment and intervention
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
